  • All accepted papers must be prepared according to the following instruction. Any violations will lead to the exclusion of your paper from the conference proceedings and the IEEE Xplore. This is required by IEEE.

Summary of instruction:

If you miss one of these steps, your paper will not appear in the MESA 06 conference proceedings.

    1. Create your manuscript.
    2. Proofread and check the layout of your manuscript.
    3. Create an IEEE PDF eXpress account.
    4. Convert your source files to an IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file by IEEE PDF eXpress.
    5. Wait to receive a PDF file called PIDxxxxxx.pdf in your email.
    6. Upload the final, IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file to the conference website, and request invitation letter(s) if needed.
    7. Submit a completed IEEE copyright form for each paper to be published in the conference proceedings.
    8. If you miss one of these steps, your paper will not appear in the MESA 06 conference proceedings.
  • Detailed instruction.

Step 1: Create your manuscript. Only papers prepared in PDF format will be accepted.

      • Paper size: US Letter format (8.5" x 11").
      • Paper length: Maximum 6 pages, including figures, tables & references. In exceptional circumstances up to two additional pages will be permitted at the cost of $150.00 per additional page.
      • Paper formatting: Double column, single-spaced, 10pt font.
      • Margins: Left, Right, and Bottom: 0.75" (19mm). The top margin must be 0.75" in (19 mm), except for the title page where it must be 1" (25 mm).
      • File size limitation: 2.0MB.
      • Do not number your manuscript pages.

 

How to create your manuscript? Please follow these steps.

7.      If you are a LaTeX user, use the document class file in this zip file. It is required that you use IEEE PDF eXpress to create a compliant PDF file.

8.      If you are a Microsoft Office user, you can download the MS Word template (a dot file, it is important that you remove the sentence "Manuscript received October 9, 2001. (Write the date on which you submitted your paper for review.)" from the footnote) and a sample paper (a doc file) in US letter format. Try to use the right button on your mouse and choose "Save Link Target As" to download these files.
Note: You may need to adjust the word sample file's margins according to the above specifications.

9.      If you do not see your options in the list above, click here to get more help on how to create compliant PDF files.

10.  Please click here for a sample paper, which was created using the LaTeX file in the zip file mentioned above. If you do not understand the instruction here or run out of options, just try your best to create your final paper similar to the sample paper.

Step 2: Proofread and check the layout of your manuscript.

11.  This is your paper and this is your last chance to read it and make corrections!

Step 3: Create an IEEE PDF eXpress account. Please follow these steps.

12.  Click "New Users - Click here".

13.  Enter MESA06 for the Conference ID.

14.  Enter your email address and choose a password.

15.  Click "Submit". Fill out the form as prompted. Then click "Submit" again.

16.  You will receive a confirmation of successful account setup on the screen and in email.

17.  Click "Continue" to go to the next step.

18.  Now click here to create an IEEE PDF eXpress account for yourself.

Step 4: Convert your source files to an IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file by IEEE PDF eXpress.

19.  LaTeX users: Please zip all your files to create a zip file before submission. Make sure that you have a dvi file in your zipped file.

20.  Other users: IEEE PDF eXpress can handle Rich Text Format, Freelance, PageMaker, FrameMaker, QuarkXpress, Word Pro, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect. I hope you can find an option for yourself and to continue to the next step.

21.  Everyone please follow these steps.

        1. Click "Create New Title".
        2. Enter a title (anything will do).
        3. Click "Submit Source File(s) for Conversion to PDF". We will only accept PDF files that is emailed to you by IEEE PDF eXpress.
        4. Choose the format of your file. Then, upload your file.
        5. Wait to hear from IEEE PDF eXpress in email or on the screen about your file conversion.

Step 5: Wait to receive an PDF file called PIDxxxxxx.pdf in your email. Please do not rename your file.

22.  Please do not delete that email from IEEE PDF eXpress.

23.  It takes a few minutes to a few hours depending on the time of your submission.

24.  Last time when I tried, I got a file named PID147408.pdf.

25.  Please take a carefull look at the file your received from IEEE PDF eXpress. Sometimes figures and other things get messed up. You have to make sure that your conversion is successful.

Step 6: After you proofread your PDF file, upload it to the conference website.

26.  You must upload the PDF file named PIDxxxxxx.pdf that you received in email to the conference website to make sure that we receive an IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file.

27.  According to IEEE, if your PDF file is not created by IEEE PDF eXpress, your paper will not be included in the conference proceedings.

28.  Please do not email your PDF file to us. The only way that your paper will be included in the proceedings is to upload your IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file yourself.

29.  You can also request invitation letter(s) if needed.

30.  You can check the status of your registration and final paper submission after you login to your MESA user account. Please do not email such inquiries unless it is after 7 days.

31.  The link for final paper submission is at the end of Step 7.

Step 7: Submit a completed IEEE copyright form for each paper to be published on Conference Proceedings                 

32.  login to your MESA 06 author account to start the final camera-ready paper submission and mark the IEEE copyright item, that means you singed IEEE copyright form for your final paper.
